Driver's ED

Brody and Colby had a blast in the Cozy Coupe's last week! Brody was hilarious putting his hands on the steering wheel! Colby just looks like a giant in the car, but he has loved these cars ever since we got them last year. We took them to the car wash (ie: hose on the back patio) the night before and Colby washed them and dried them.

Oh yeah, he's got the hang of it now!
Regular Ole Pro!
Cruisn' the Cozy Coupe. Oh yeah, baby, fully loaded!
We had fun again this morning riding around! It was a nice end to a long long week. I went back to work this week for 4 days in a row! I know, insert violin playing here. It wasn't tough, the work part, but being away from my boys was a lot harder than I thought! I missed them so much! But it was good to know that I am still in the groove with my physical therapy skills and all! I did have fun at work! I met the sweetest couple married 62 years and did therapy with both of them 3 days of the week. I got to dance with Jim in the locked memory unit of one of the locations I work at. Jim, I think was convinced I was a girlfriend, but it all worked out well, the dancing helped him improve his balance and coordination and no harm came of the little kiss he gave me on the cheek! Denise did scare me though as she swatted me out of the courtyard with a newspaper, but she's forgiven! And I got to hear incredible stories of all of their lives as we exercised and work on all their functional activities!! Tonight we took Colby to Mesquite Groves Pool which is just incredible for a city facility! It was a blast, there is a beach entry pool with a playground set in a 1.5 foot deep water, a lazy river, two gigantic slides, a swirling vortex of water, a splash pad!! It is so much fun! We braved it last week without Daddy and had a great time too, but tonight was even better! Next week we are off to Newport! Beach and relaxation here we come!

A Fisherman and a Pirate!

Once upon a time, there lived a bass pro fisherman and a pirate. Yeah, ummmm, NO!! I am just not good like all my friends(umm Bryn) who write these cute blog stories! Colby got this awesome bass pro shirt from Grandpa and last night he was showing it off and saying all these crazy things in the hall. He got even sillier when I started taking pictures because he then loves to look at himself once the pictures have been taken! 4 year olds...so self-centered! Brody got this cute as can be pirate outfit from his Auntie Aimee and Uncle Marshall at Christmas time, and we were afraid it was not going to fit come summer, but it fits just right and he was so cute in it today!

Our Week

This week was super fun. We did lots of things to keep us busy. We went for our morning jogs and played at new parks in our neighboring neighborhood (did ya like that?). Brody had so much fun sitting big boy style in the little rocking dino at the park, and Colby managed to eat snacks and walk the balance beam. We took a trip down to the Cortina pool, and had a good and pretty uneventful time, oh yea except for the gross out moment I had when two strange peeps (how does this happen in such a nice neighborhood) got out of the pool and one of them had a gigantor open wound on his leg. Yeah, almost vomited! Anyway, we got directly out and went into the baby pool. My cute sis-in-law said he could have had some flesh eating bacteria...eeewwwhh...didn't want to think about that! Thanks Aimee! LOL  Colby started swim lessons up again this week. He is taking from my sweet friend Heather, who is only the coolest teacher! She is so good with Colby and she just totally gets him...so he loves her too!  Today we went swimming at Mimi and Papas which was super fun, bc the cousins were there too! We had to stay busy b/c Matt left with the Priests to go up to the cabin for some scout and leadership training. So we ate at Colbs fav place Panda Express. That boy can put down some orange chicken! Lucky for us the YMCA in the neighborhood across the street was having a free fun night...so we stopped by and Colby got to have fun bouncing around in the a bounce house with a slide. Now as I write we are having movie night. So I am off to cuddle with my sweet Colby! More later....

Routine Cuteness

Every night before bedtime, Brody has to have his breathing treatment, which means he is a happy boy, because he gets to watch Baby Einsteins for like 5 minutes!! I don't know what it is about those darn puppets, but he loves them. Oh yeah, talks to them, squeals at them, in fact his whole body shakes with joy and excitement! Afterward the other night he was playing with his toys and I had to capture this classic Brody moment. He is our little dog. Naturally because of his age he puts all things in his mouth, but ever since he got his teeth, he has been carrying things in his mouth or using it to hold things! Now that he is crawling this is coming in handy! Silly boy!

Who wears shoes Anyway?

Brody has never worn shoes. These cute little tennis shoes we got from Taya when Colby was born. We totally missed the boat with Colby and by the time we tried them they were too small. So we got them out the other night and tried them on Brody, and ta-da they fit! They looked so funny, mainly because we have never seen him in shoes and partly because he was just in his diaper, but it was so fun! This is what our evenings have turned into...I know it's sad, but true...these are the things you do when you have kids...at least we do! The best picture has got to be the very last one! This is the only age you can rock the man boobs and have it be cute! I love all that rolly polly chunkiness! There is nothing better than kissing all that sweet baby skin and "chunk chunks"! Love you Brods!

Hula-by-biscus

So you already know last week Colby got his immunizations. On Thursday afternoon (the day after) his little arm just started swelling up like a balloon and started to get red (the pictures). When I looked at it again closer to dinner time, his arm was even more swollen and it was spreading into his chest! Yipes! The one red spot turned into two then three. So I called his pediatrician who was about to close for the day and they said to take him to urgent care. We get there and quite quickly we get to see the doctor after triage. No surprise here...Colby gets all things weird and abnormally normal! :) If there is a 1% chance he will get something...he usually does...he is just one of those kids that falls into the few that have weird reactions. It's Greenwald Luck! The doctor said about 3% of kids get this reaction after their 4th DTaP immunization. Sometimes the whole arm swells. Sure enough the next day most of the swelling was gone, but he still has some redness almost a week later. Strange! Poor Kiddo!  Even in the midst of all the worry, kids have a way of just making you laugh. On the way home from urgent care, Colby talking to us non-stop as usual, says, "mama when will I see a hula-by-biscus again?" "What?" I say. " a hula-by-biscus mama." Then I realized what he was talking about. The night before he had picked me a flower out of the neighbors yard :) and I told him it was a hibiscus flower. So now Matt and I are calling all kinds of things hula-by-biscus just for fun....
